Who We Are

Capital City is an independent Canadian educational technology company based in Edmonton, Alberta. We build online games and lessons that teach kids ages 6-14 how money works — budgeting, saving, investing, credit, taxes, giving, and running a business.

Capital City was founded by Paul Carter with a simple goal: give Canadian parents and teachers a safe, privacy-respecting way to teach money skills that kids actually enjoy.

What We Do
Financial literacy education for kids

Our Mission

Financial literacy is one of the most critical life skills. Research from the University of Cambridge suggests that many of our money habits are already formed by around age 7 (source). That's why teaching kids about money early matters so much.

Our mission is simple: make learning about money fun for every child. Parents, teachers, and homeschoolers can all use Capital City to teach real money skills through play.

Through our 9 interactive districts, children learn everything from basic budgeting to advanced concepts like compound interest, investing, and global trade.
